Dave said - "The fish was taken on a Catfish Rod [can't remember the make], 150lb Tough Line braid (Western Filaments), running ledger to 90lb mono. Size 4/0 barbless Eagle Claw Hook. Fought this fish for at least 25 minutes. You really need to bully them in so they are fit to release. They are VERY strong and the fight is hard work! Bait was a bag of chum salmon eggs, also used stinky bait - dead baits or other salmon, slices cut from belly (Disgusting stuff). Jumped 3 times. When the fish was played out, we towed it to the shore, unhooked, took pix and released. Great to see it swim away. This Sturgeon was 7ft in length and weighed about 200lbs. Fought hard and jumped all over the place. Had six this size and few smaller ones. Fished the Fraser River on the Tidal Beat - Mission, British Columbia; one hours drive from Vancouver. Great fishing holiday." Always listened to my guide - had good information on local conditions. PS. I'm the good looking one on the left!

Garry Fullick
This proved to be a great trip for Garry when he fished a wreck some two miles off Newhaven on the 'Sea Leopard' skippered by John Goldsmith. Over forty-one Pollock and some Bass, Cod & Gurnard was landed with a Pollock to 18lbs being the best fish of the day. Garry says that this was one of the best days out and would recommend the Sea Leopard. If you want the prospect of a good day out - contact Skipper John Goldsmith (Sea Leopard) -on 1273-589380 or 07957-760063

| Dave Kite Dave, from Rochester- Kent, takes regular fishing breaks and this trip happened to be in good old Oz. Pictured here with his new acquisition - the Assassin Heavy Beach Caster, designed & built by the South African Sea Angling Team Captain, Barry Wareham. This rod is a three piece with a total of four tips, Light (>6oz), Medium (>8oz), Heavy (>12oz) & Short Heavy (<12oz - all casting weight not including bait), making this rod a fabulous all rounder for hard fighting fish as you will see from the pictures below.

Black Spot Tusk Locally called the "Blue Bone" because the bones have a blue hue. Crustacean feeding. This specimen weighed in at 21lb and apparently was 'Good Eating'.

| Big Toothy Critter This species of Lemon Shark weighed in at 420lb (approx) and took a long time to land and was caught on 50lb Braid. The shark was returned to the sea alive to EAT another day!

| David Elliott David Elliott (a WEB design consultant from London), declined many attempts to try Sea Fishing because of his unease of going to sea in small boats, finally took the 'plunge' whilst on holiday in St Lucia, Brave hearted David (The 'First Timer') hooked into a 25 pounder Barracuda that tore line from his reel at a great rate of knots and gave him a real run for his money. Well done David. Regrettably, David didn't have time to taste his catch as he was homeward bound early the next morning.
The Barracuda was caught using a skirted teaser manufactured by Williamson Lures of South Africa.

Geir Robinson
Hi Dave As promised - this was a 14lb skate caught out of Brightlingsea. One of 5 caught on the day (two of which in double figures) plus a number of whiting, doggies and a codling all caught on Pennell-rigged squid with 180gram surf-feeders from your website. The feeders were filled with chopped squid and squid extract. The others on the boat were having a good laugh at my expense for using coarse fishing tactics until they saw the benefits of using your feeders (the guy next to me blanked!) - Then they wanted to know where I got the feeders from!!! Best regards Geir Nice One Geir
