The New Sharnbrook Tackle Tuna Chin Gaff has been designed with safety in mind by incorporating a "D" handle instead of a "T" bar set up. This makes the Chin Gaff easier to handle as the grip is more positive and as a further enhancement, the gaff is fitted with a solidly welded ring that will allow a safety line to be clipped and secured to the vessel. The top part of the Gaff has been powder coated red for Hi-Visibility and a rudimentary hook point protector is supplied as a safety precaution.
Made from 10mm Stainless Steel, this gaff has a slightly turned-out hook point for easier and safer hooking and with the incorporation of the "D" handle and the hand grip has a knurled surface for greater grip especially when hands are cold, wet or slippery - this makes for a more comfortable experience for both the angler/handler & of course the fish whilst it's being revived, enabling the tuna or other pelagic species to get its wind back prior to release.
