The New Tuna & Halibut "Tailer" SBK.TA03 helps you bring a boated fish under control quickly and safely. It is the ideal way to control fish while you measure them for legal size, and can be a big help in lifting fish as heavy as 500 pounds into the boat. When used on a fish that is to be released, the "Tailer" is more effective than a lip gaff, and it minimizes injury to the fish.
Featuring a wide loop of springy stainless-steel aircraft cable, the Tailer slips easily over the tail of your fish, and with a quick upward pull, closes instantly and snugly. With its tail out of the water, the fish's movements are strictly limited, so it becomes much easier to tag, measure and release the fish, or to lift it into the boat. The Tailer is 153cm long and made with a 32mm aluminium shaft anodized a rich gold for lasting beauty and resistance to corrosion. Two soft but rugged black grips are moulded from the same non-slip material found on fine rods. The 5mm aircraft cable (sheaved in a Polyprop tube) is also highly resistant to corrosion. The lasso made from marine grade braided rope, which actually closes around the tail, is pliable & fish friendly.
This new model is travel friendly inasmuch as the Business End (Bowden Cable & Lasso) is detachable thus making this Tailer easy to transport by road but more importantly by Air Freight as it can be loaded easily into a standard Rod Tube that will handle upto 155cm handle length with an overall internal diameter of 6cm
