West Coast Custom rods are built on 24-ton carbon and E-Glass blanks featuring an E-Glass core with a 3K-woven carbon outer blank wrap which increases hoop strength and durability. These rods are virtually unbreakable under normal use
All components are top quality; Guides are 130 lb class ALPS RX series Ball Bearing roller guides with 316-stainless steel rollers. The rollers are shielded to prevent modern superbraid lines from slipping between the guide and frame. Each guide has two stainless steel sealed ball bearings for smoothness and minimal line wear.
Reel seats are Alps CAH-F aluminium sized for 50 - 80 lb class reels
Detachable Short curved Butts for Stand-Up fishing in woven carbon fibre for strength and lightness.
Available in Heavy (H) and Extra Heavy (XH) there's a model for everything from Porbeagle and Thresher sharks, heavyweight Halibut and Skate through to the biggest Bluefin tuna or Grander Marlin. Heavy (H) and Extra Heavy (XH) models are available with optional ALPS RX series Swivel Roller top guide for greater line control when deep fishing for swordfish or deep-water heavyweights.
