From the Small Chunking Squid Jig to the large model, these Squid Jigs are used as a Bait Rig that accepts a small chunk of bait to a whole Joey mackerel. The bait is mounted by inserting the Jig through the centre of the bait so that the head of the bait is resting towards the needle sharp hooks. The rig is then attached to your rod by a 'Quick Release' clip allowing the morsel to slip head long into the sea.
This rig is superb for squid fishing but also has its place when wrecking for Conger, Ling, Cod as the multi hook system will easily snare your prey. As there are no barbs on the hooks, a steady pressure is required to haul your standard quarry to the surface, where your catch will easily be released when you up-end your quarry the same way as you would a Squid catch.
The Large Barbed Baited Squid Jig measures 18cm in overall length with a barb diameter of 6cm. The Small Barbed Baited Squid Jig measures 20cm overall length with a barb diameter 2.5cm
